These Terms of Use apply to this website and to Lumi Scraper (the Chrome extension and Lumi Engine). They work together with our Terms and Conditions. By using either, you accept them.

1. Using this website

  • You may read, link to and share pages of this website.
  • Don't copy its design, text, screenshots or icon for your own site or product.
  • Don't try to break into it, overload it, or interfere with how it works.
  • The information here is general and can change as Lumi Scraper changes.

2. What Lumi Scraper is for

Lumi Scraper is built for collecting information that's openly available on the web, carefully and legally. Welcome uses include:

  • prices, products and stock from online shops, for research or comparison;
  • listings, directories and public business contact details;
  • your own websites, or sites whose owners have agreed;
  • articles and pages as text for research, summaries or AI tools, within copyright law;
  • checking public pages for changes.

3. What you must not do with it

Getting past protections

  • Solving, bypassing or outsourcing CAPTCHAs or other bot checks.
  • Scraping pages behind someone else's login, paywall or access control, or using someone else's account or session.
  • Disguising or rotating your identity to get around a website that has blocked you.

Harming websites

  • Sending so many requests that a website slows down or fails, or trying to get around Lumi Scraper's speed limit.
  • Scraping a website after its owner has told you to stop.

Misusing what you collect

  • Collecting personal data without a lawful reason, or using it to spam, stalk, harass, profile or discriminate against people.
  • Collecting data about children, health, finances, caste, religion, political views or sexual life, unless the law clearly allows you to.
  • Publishing or selling copyrighted content you scraped as if it were yours.
  • Anything illegal where you or the website are.

Misusing Lumi Scraper

  • Sharing or reselling it, reverse engineering it, or getting around its limits or licence checks.
  • Using it to build a competing scraping product.

4. robots.txt and websites' own terms

You choose whether a job follows a website's robots.txt; if you turn it off, that choice is yours to answer for. Many websites have their own terms about automated access; you're responsible for following those that apply to you.

5. Personal data

If your results contain personal data, you decide why and how it's used, and you're responsible for following the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and any other privacy law that applies, such as the GDPR for people in the EU. Lumi Scraper warns you whenever results contain emails or phone numbers.

6. If a website owner complains

Write to support@lumifine.co. Lumi Scraper runs on its users' own computers, so we can't see their jobs, but we look into every report.

7. Links to other websites

This website links to other sites, such as the payment page and the projects Lumi Scraper builds on. We're not responsible for their content or policies.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms of Use; the date at the top shows the latest version.
